Les especies d'aves con nome común en llingua asturiana márquense como ^NOA. En casu contrariu, conséñase'l nome científicu.

Passer motitensis ye una ave, del orde de les paseriformes, qu'habita nes sabanes, viesques y poblaos del sur del continente africanu.

El llargor de l'ave, del picu a les plumes caudales, ye d'ente 15 y 16 centímetros, asemeyando un gorrión común de grandes dimensiones. La so cabeza ye gris col tradicional capiellu de los gorriones, de color ablondu.

Taxonómicamente, alcuéntrase íntimamente emparentáu con otros gorriones, como'l gorrión de Socotora, el gorrión kenyanu, el gorrión del Kordofán y el gorrión de Shelley.
