James Cruze (27 de marzu de 1884, Ogden – 3 d'agostu de 1942, Hollywood) foi un actor y direutor cinematográficu d'Estaos Xuníos de la dómina del cine mudu.

Biografía[editar | editar la fonte]

Nacíu cerca de Ogden (Utah), el so verdaderu nome yera Jens Vera Cruz Bosen. Educar na fe de la la Ilesia de Xesucristu de los Santos de los Últimos Díes, anque nun prauticó la relixón a partir de l'adolescencia. Cruze trabayó como actor, direutor o productor en más de 100 filmes, la mayor parte nos años del cine mudu. El so primer trabayu conocíu como intérprete tuvo llugar pa la Lubin Manufacturing Company en 1910. En 1912 empezó a trabayar pa Thanhouser Company, empresa na que desenvolvió la mayor parte de la so carrera, bona parte d'ella como primer actor. Cruze casóse cola actriz Marguerite Snow en 1913, teniendo la pareya una fía en 1914 y divorciándose en 1922.

En dexando Thanhouser en 1916, Cruze trabayó pa otres varies compañíes como direutor y productor, principalmente Paramount Pictures ente 1918 y 1938. En 1924 casóse cola actriz Betty Compson, divorciándose dambos en 1930. Más palantre, el 30 de xunu de 1941 casóse con Alberta McCoy.

James Cruze finó en Hollywood, California, en 1942. Foi soterráu nel Camenterio Hollywood Forever, en Hollywood.
