Dana Ivey (12 d'agostu de 1941, Atlanta) ye una actriz d'Estaos Xuníos. Foi nomada cinco veces a los Tony Awards pol so trabayu en Broadway y ganó un Drama Desk Award pol so papel en Sex and Longing y The Last Night of Ballyhoo. Les sos apaiciones en películes inclúin The Color Purple (1985), The Addams Family (1991), Two Weeks Notice (2002), y Rush Hour 3 (2007).

Nació n'Atlanta, Georgia, fía de Mary Nell Ivey Santacroce y Hugh Daugherty Ivey. La so madre foi una profesora, logopeda y actriz; ente que'l so padre foi un médicu y profesor del Institutu Teunolóxicu de Georgia. Graduar del Rollins College en Winter Park, Florida, y depués estudió drama nel London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.[2] Ivey recibió un doctoráu del Rollins College en febreru de 2008.[3]

Depués de trabayar munchos años en teatru, la so primer apaición en cine asocedió en 1985, cola película Explorers, xunto a Ethan Hawke y River Phoenix.[4] Tamién apaeció na película The Color Purple, del direutor Steven Spielberg. Otres películes nes qu'actuó son Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, el remake de 1995 Sabrina, Simon Birch, Postcards from the Edge, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, The Addams Family, Addams Family Values, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, Les aventures de Huckleberry Finn, Orange County, Rush Hour 3, la versión de 2011, The Importance of Being Earnest, ya interpreta a Mrs. Kelson, en Two Weeks Notice. En 2011, ella interpreta a Grace Higginbotham na aclamada película, The Help, y participó en Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight.

En 1978, fai'l so debú en televisión con Search for Tomorrow. Otres participaciones en televisión son Easy Street, Homicide: Life on the Street, Law & Order, Frasier, Oz, The Practice, Sex and the City, Ugly Betty, Boardwalk Empire y Monk, ente otres.
