Los pirginos (Pyrginae) son una subfamilia de lepidópteros ditrisios de la familia Hesperiidae. Conócense 130 xéneros y unes 1.150 especies, de distribución cosmopolita, pero de les cualos unes 750 son neotropicales. Inclúi les especies de la d'antiguo considerada subfamilia Pyrrhopyginae. ^[1]

Les ales delanteres de los machos presenten de cutiu una plega costal qu'alluga les androconias. Posense coles ales estendíes, frecuentemente nel viesu de les fueyes. L'ala posterior tien una forma arrondada o trapezoidal. Les canesbes aliméntense de dicotiledónees.
