Potentilla arguta ye una especie de planta perenne de la familia de les rosácees, nativa d'América del Norte. Créese que ye una planta proto-carnívora yá que tien enzimes p'absorber proteínes.

Taxonomía

Potentilla arguta describióse por Frederick Traugott Pursh y espublizóse en Flora Americae Septentrionalis; or, . . . 2: 736. 1814[1813].^[1]

Etimoloxía

Potentílla: nome xenéricu que remanez del llatín postclásico potentilla, -ae de potens, -entis, potente, poderosu, que tien poder; llatín -illa, -illae, sufixu de diminutivu–. Alude a les poderoses presuntes propiedaes tóniques y astringentes d'esta planta.

arguta: epítetu llatín que significa "marcadamente dentada".^[2]
