Residente de South Orange, Nueva Jersey,^[4] Gilman asistió al Chatham Day School y anguaño asiste al Newark Academy en Livingston, Nueva Jersey. Él participa nos equipos de golf y esgrima de la so escuela.^[5] Gilman tuvo'l so Bar Mitzvah en febreru de 2012.^[6]
