Orixe del nome

Anque esisten delles propuestes sobre l'orixe del nome Comanche, créese^[2] que procede del términu de la llingua ute Ko·mantci· 'el mio enemigu' (pronunciáu [kɨ.ˈman.tsi] o [kɨ.ˈma.tsi])^[3]^[4]^[5]
