Jack Lemmon

Jack Lemmon (8 de febreru de 1925 - 27 de xunu de 2001) foi un actor de cine de los Estaos Xuníos nacíu en Boston col nome de John Uhler Lemmon. Foi unu de los actores más premiaos de la so xeneración.

Vida y carrera

Nació nun ascensor en Newton, un suburbiu de Boston, onde'l so padre yera'l presidente d'una compañía de rosquilles. Depués d'asistir a la Phillis Academy y a la Universidá de Harvard, Lemmon alistóse na armada. Posteriormente ganóse la vida trabayando en radio, televisión y teatru (en Broadway).

Lemmon entamó'l so trabayu nel cine, en 1949, con un pequeñu papel na película The Lady Takes a Sailor pero nun se-y dio atención hasta'l so debut oficial frente a Judy Holliday en It Should Happen to You (1954).

Convirtióse nel actor favoritu del director Billy Wilder, protagonizando les sos películes Some Like It Hot, The Apartment, Irma La Douce y Avanti.

Lemmon foi'l primer actor en ganar un Óscar al Meyor Actor, por Save the Tiger (1973), y al Meyor Actor Secundariu, por Mister Roberts (1955). Tamién foi nomináu pola Academia n'otres seis ocasiones. Igualmente foi nomináu en ventidós ocasiones al Globu d'Oro. En 1996 el Festival Internacional de Cine de Berlín concedió-y l'Osu d'Oro al conxuntu de la so carrera.
