James Marvin Lockhart (Huntington, Virxinia Occidental, 8 d'abril de 1933)[6] ye un historiador, caderalgu y académicu estauxunidense que s'especializó nel estudiu de la dómina colonial en Llatinoamérica.

Semblanza biográfica

Realizó los sos estudios de llicenciatura na Universidá de Virxinia Occidental y de maestría y doctoráu na Universidá de Wisconsin-Madison.[7] Especializóse nel estudiu de les fontes históriques escrites n'idioma náhuatl y na cultura nahua de la dómina poscolonial. Ye profesor eméritu de la Universidá de California en Los Ánxeles (UCLA).[8] Ye unu de los principales fundadores de la llamada escuela New Philology, que constrúi la hestoria en base al estudiu de les fontes escrites en llingües indíxenes de la dómina colonial de Méxicu.
