La macrofamilia áustrica o austru-tai consiste nuna agrupación de delles families de llingües del sudeste asiáticu. Esta hipótesis de que n'última instancia toes eses llingües tán emparentaes ente sigo ye revesosa. Non toos el autores defenden los mesmos parentescos, les propuestes van dende la postulación d'un parentescu ente'l austronesio y l'austroasiático,[1] hasta hipótesis más amplies (entá cola esclusión del austroasiático) como la propuesta de Benedict.
Llingües del grupu
Los diversos autores que sofiten la hipótesis áustrica difieren en dellos detalles. El nucleu de dicha hipótesis constituyir la subhipótesis de que les llingües austronesies y les llingües austroasiáticas tán rellacionaes. Diffloth (1994) y Reid (1994,1999) amuesen delles poques evidencies de raigaños compartíos ente estos dos families de llingües, compatibles cola hipótesis áustrica.[2]
