Bromus briziformis, ye una especie yerbácea perenne perteneciente a la familia de les gramínees (Poaceae).

Ye una yerba añal qu'algama un tamañu d'hasta 70 centímetros d'altor. La inflorescencia ye abierta con espigues planes. Cada espiguilla componer de frutes redondes con capes y al movese, asemeyen el ruiu d'una culiebra de cascabel.

Distribución y hábitat[editar | editar la fonte]

Ye orixinaria d'Eurasia y alcuéntrase n'América del Norte como una especie introducida.

Bromus briziformis describióse por Fisch. & C.A.Mey. y espublizóse en Index Seminum (St. Petersburg) 3: 30. 1837.[1]

Etimoloxía

Bromus: nome xenéricu que remanez del griegu bromos = (avena), o de chancia = (alimentu).[2]

briziformis: epítetu llatín que significa "cola forma de Briza", particularmente Briza maxima.
