Les juncaginacees (nome científicu Juncaginaceae) son yerbes perennes, acuátiques o palustres, de distribución cosmopolita pero de hábitats principalmente costeros. La familia ye reconocida por sistemes de clasificación modernos como'l sistema de clasificación APG III (2009^[3]) y l'APWeb (2001 d'equí p'arriba^[2]). Les juncaginacees estremar d'otres families por tener fueyes más o menos unifaciales, una inflorescencia en recímanu o espiga, con escapo, y flores con toles sos pieces llibres ente sigo.
